Emma began her career as an inpatient oncology/med-surg nurse, eventually serving as the charge nurse and magnet champion in her unit at Mother Frances Hospital. She continued on to work in multiple fields as a palliative and hospice RN case manager, including time on a clinical decision/triage unit and time as a clinical supervisor/interim DON. Emma made the decision to transition into private care with Evergreen Private Care before joining the team at Family Tree Private Care as our Director of Nursing, supervising our nursing division in the Southeast Texas Region. Emma initially earned an AAS in Nursing and an AA in General Studies and returned to school to earn her BS in Nursing a few years later. Emma is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, and American Holistic Nurses Association.
Emma discovered her passion for home care while working with her long-term oncology clients. She was disheartened with the quality of life they experienced after discharge and committed to providing our vulnerable and aging communities access to compassionate and excellent care in their own homes while preserving dignity and promoting autonomy. Emma, her husband Joel, and their son Rhys live in Magnolia, TX with their pets. Emma enjoys traveling, reading, biking, collecting too many plants, and listening to crime podcasts.
